NDI Launches the OPTOTRAK PROseries Measurement System

WATERLOO, CANADA – April 15, 2006: NDI is proud to announce the release of the OPTOTRAK® PROseries, a next-generation portable metrology system for the manufacturing industry. With no restrictive arms or laser beams to break and a large measurement volume, the wireless OPTOTRAK PROseries brings considerable improvement over previous industrial solutions.
Traditional portable systems work well in the lab but often falter when deployed in real-world environments. Leveraging its pioneering expertise in advanced spatial measurement, NDI designed the OPTOTRAK PROseries to provide the best shop-floor accuracy in the market. "Manufacturers have been waiting for a measurement system that actually performs on the shop floor," commented Paul Clausen, V.P. of Strategic Business Development at NDI. "From the ground up, OPTOTRAK PROseries has been designed to deliver real-world performance and usability."
An armless, wireless, and beamless design and advanced Dynamic Referencing software offer the power of fixtureless measurement and worry-free performance. The OPTOTRAK PROseries offers various configuration choices to fit specific tasks and budgets, and the system’s core component, the solid state Optical Tracker, can track, measure and scan without additional upgrades. The system incorporates operator-friendly static and continuous scanning probes and specially designed targets for advanced dynamic tracking.
